1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

Phone number — used for account verification via SMS one-time password
Email address — used as a backup login method and for account recovery
Device id — used for fraud prevention, to re-identify returning users who uninstall/reinstall, and to support session management without requiring re-authentication.
Google Timeline export file — a JSON file you choose to import into Lobo

Information Processed on Your Device

Your Google Timeline data is processed locally on your device. This includes GPS coordinates, timestamps, activity types, and place visit records. Raw GPS coordinates and location history are never transmitted to our servers.

Anonymized Behavioral Data (With Your Consent Only)

If you choose to opt in to the Lobo monetization program, we collect anonymized behavioral segment data such as:

Frequency of visits to place categories (e.g., "visits coffee shops 3+ times per week")
Time-of-day and day-of-week movement patterns
General activity patterns (driving frequency, walking habits)

This data contains no GPS coordinates, no place names, no personal identifiers, and cannot be used to identify your physical location or trace your movements.

Device type and operating system version
App version and crash reports
Basic usage analytics (screens viewed, features used)

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account
To process and display your Timeline data as personal insights within the app
To match you with relevant advertiser segments (only with your explicit consent)
To send messages from advertisers you have opted in to receive
To calculate and process your earnings from the monetization program
To improve the app and fix bugs
To comply with legal obligations

3. How We Protect Your Location Data

Your raw GPS coordinates never leave your device
Place names are identified using the Google Places API, but only anonymized category data is stored on our servers
We do not build or sell individual location profiles
Advertiser segments are based on behavioral categories, not geographic tracking
We apply k-anonymity principles — no segment is shared with advertisers unless it contains a minimum number of users, preventing individual identification

4. Sharing Your Information

We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your name, phone number, email address, or location history to any third party.

Advertiser Segments (Opt-In Only)

If you opt in to monetization, advertisers may target you based on anonymized behavioral segments. Advertisers receive no personal information about you — only aggregate segment membership counts.

Service Providers

We share data with trusted service providers who help us operate the Service:

Firebase (Google) — authentication and push notifications
Cloudflare — API infrastructure and caching
Google Places API — place identification
Supabase — encrypted database storage

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Lobo, our users, or the public.

5. Your Rights & Choices

Access: View your stored data within the app at any time
Deletion: Delete all your data from Settings → Clear All Data. This immediately removes all stored records from your device and our servers
Opt-out: Opt out of the monetization program at any time from Settings → Consent Manager
Account deletion: Delete your account from Settings → Sign Out, or by emailing privacy@getlobo.app
Data portability: Request a copy of your stored data by emailing privacy@getlobo.app

If you are a resident of California, the European Union, or another jurisdiction with specific data protection rights, additional rights may apply. Contact us at privacy@getlobo.app.

6. Data Retention

Account information (phone, email): retained until you delete your account
Behavioral segment data: retained while your account is active; deleted within 30 days of account deletion
Anonymized analytics: may be retained indefinitely in aggregate, non-identifiable form

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted database storage, and access controls. No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at privacy@getlobo.app.

8. Children's Privacy

Lobo is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact privacy@getlobo.app.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Your continued use of Lobo after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
